From ancient
Rome, the triple arch of Constantine was built to celebrate the victory
of Constantine over the Emperor Maxentius 312 A.D. and the transition of Rome from the
pagan to the Christian world.
There are many convents that offer accommodation in Rome. We
stayed at
"Il Rosario," very near the Coliseum on our first visit. The
sisters had a wonderful machine that dispensed many kinds of
Italian coffees and hot chocolate for the guests.
During our 2002 visit, my husband and
I stayed at
"Casa Beata Margherita Canani." It was a delightful experience and very
convenient to the metro
and the Vatican.
"La Frutteria" was found close to the Vatican.
The
displays in food shops in Italy are always works of art.
