Ferrara is a charming town in the "Emilia Romagna" province of Italy. During the Renaissance, it was home of the powerful d'Este family. Today in Ferrara, many travel about the medieval streets on bicycles.
This image was outside a convent we visited, where the ceilings and walls have painted frescos by an artist who worked with Giotto. My husband and I enjoyed a private tour of the art work by a very sweet sister.
